WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING

Troubleshooting

Start with the simple checks. Change one thing at a time.

My Stream Keeps Stopping

  1. Check your upload speed.
  2. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi when possible.
  3. Lower the NovaNet profile one step.
  4. Stop cloud backups, downloads, and other heavy internet use.
  5. Test a different internet path.

My Video Is Choppy

  • Your upload may be too close to your stream bitrate.
  • Your computer or encoder may be overloaded.
  • 60 fps may be too heavy for the current system.
  • Wi-Fi or cellular may be losing packets.
  • Try 720p30 or 1080p30 and test again.

My Audio Sounds Bad

  • Move the microphone closer.
  • Turn down gain if the sound is clipping.
  • Use headphones to check the real Program audio.
  • Keep microphones away from speakers when possible.
  • Check that the correct microphone is selected.

Venue Wi-Fi Was Fast Earlier but Is Slow Now

The room may have filled with people. Shared Wi-Fi and cellular towers can slow down when many users arrive. Move to a dedicated wired connection, lower the profile, or switch to the backup path.

What Should I Tell NovaNet Support?

  • What device or encoder are you using?
  • What resolution and fps?
  • What bitrate?
  • What internet connection?
  • What is the measured upload speed?
  • Are you on Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cellular?
  • What happened and when?
  • Did the stream reconnect?
